Did you recieve it already?
Do you know that you can receive a Children’s Allowance if you are parents or guardians of children who have not yet graduated junior high school(through March 31 of the year the child turns 15 years old)?
Allowance amount is this!
Children are counted(as first, second, third, and so on) in order of age and included until the first March 31 after they turn 18. All children must be actually cared for by the recipient with shared household expenses.
See Income limits
|Number of dependents||Income(net)||Income(gross)|
When is it paid ?
Payment schedule is February, June, and October of each year.
How to apply?
You will not receive a Children’s Allowance if you do not apply for it. Submit your application of the child’s birth or move-in date.
I had heard many times a word”Jidou teate(Children’s allowance in japanese)” on TV news. But I didn’t know that I had to submit it within 15 days. In Japan, when the mothers have their delivery, they are in a hospital about a week. And generally after that, they have to be at home with new born baby to take a rest and learn care of new born baby and don’t work hard neither going out.
But if your family can not submit it, you have to go to city hall to apply. I went there with my new born baby after having left hospital.
