【Aichi Tourist】One of Best places in Aichi to visit, Nagoya Castle

Very popular place with foreigners

My host mother who’d cared of me in Chile came from Australia visited us. So I took her to Nagoya Castle. It’s the first time for my family,too.[/voice]

8 min south of the Nagoya Express Way Route No. 1 Kusunoki-line “Kurokawa” exit.
5 min north of the Nagoya Express Way Ring Route “Marunouchi” exit.

Pay Parking

Main Gate Parking

Regular hours: 8:45 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Capacity: 319 passenger cars, 28 large vehicles
*Open until 10:00 p.m. during the Summer Night Festival.
*Motor bicycles are accepted.
*Closed on December 29 – January 1.

East Gate Parking

Regular hours: 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Capacity: 202 passenger cars, 28 large vehicles
*Open until 8:00 p.m. during the Cherry Blossoms Festival.
*Closed on December 29 – January 1.

Parking

The parking is for more than 300 cars. So we could park easily there.

Public transportation

Subway

  • Get off at the “Shiyakusho (City Hall)” or M07 stop of the Meijo Line.
  • Get off at the “Sengencho” or T05 stop of the Tsurumai Line.

Bus:

  • Get off at the “Nagoyajo Seimon-Mae” stop of Sakae No. 13.
  • Take a Nagoya Sightseeing Route Bus called “Me-guru”.
  • Get off at the “Shiyakusho” stop of the Key Route Bus No. 2.

Train:

Get off at the “Higashi-ote” stop of the Meitetsu Seto Line

We can see “Shachihoko”, a fabulous dolphin like fish on the roof-ridge of Nagoya castle.

Free English-speaking tours are offered by Aichi Goodwill Guides Network (AGGN). Join these guides and discover the colorful stories about the castle.

■Regular Tour (no reservations are needed): Everyday (except Dec. 29 through Jan. 4) at 13:00 from the East Gate of Nagoya Castle.
